Pastor: The Reverend Martin P. Brooks

I was born on the south side of Chicago and was a close friend of bad, bad Leroy Brown! Prior to moving to Washington D.C, for graduate school, I spent most of my teen and adults years throughout New York. Once an avid comic book collector (visit my office to see my Marvel posters), I watch nearly every superhero and science fiction movie that comes out! I love to play ultimate Frisbee and baseball/ softball, and will cheer loudly for the White Sox at Orioles games! I have camped throughout the country, and walked down the east coast of the United States after high school. While I love working in Pasadena and throughout Anne Arundel County, I currently reside in Ellicott City with my wife and 4-year-old daughter.

Pastor Martin is an ordained Elder and has served in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodists Church since 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and two Master’s degrees (Divinity and Theological Studies) from Wesley Theological Seminary. He has served as the pastor at Magothy since 2018.

My name is Felicia, but many individuals know me by my middle name, Ellen.  I am retired from the public school system, but stay busier than ever!  I have three grown sons and a precious granddaughter named Daisy Eve.  My passion for fitness and well-being has led me to yoga, which I have taught for over 10 years.  The world of sci-fi, especially all things Star Trek, is my go-to for entertainment.  My love of sewing is leading me to establish an on-line business, ‘Bags with Character,’ where I will sell handbags and totes made with fabrics depicting popular movies, TV shows, and books.  My family and I have been faithful members of Magothy UMC for over 40 years!
